The Houston area is loaded with high school baseball talent.

In fact, putting together any kind of list of the area’s best baseball prospects and adding what college they’ve signed with is a bit of a waste, because some of these players are likely to be high draft picks and elect to skip college altogether.

In Scout.com’s latest Major League Baseball mock draft, it predicts Concordia Lutheran pitcher Shane Baz will be drafted in the first round by the Texas Rangers. If that’s the case, it’s likely Baz will never show up to TCU, who he signed with in November.

Travis outfielder Cole Turney, who is an Arkansas signee, and Langham Creek pitcher Tylor Fischer also are in Baseball America’s list of top 100 high school prospects.
