“The boys from Queens are back together…and hungry.” The Mets’ vaunted pitching rotation of Steven Matz, Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Matt Harvey break bread as part of the new MLB ad campaign “This Season On Baseball”.

Fresh off the success of the World Baseball Classic, Major League Baseball is—to quote Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost—keeping the line moving, by getting fans hyped up for the start of the 2017 MLB regular season with a new ad campaign ahead of Opening Day on Sunday.

Starting today, the multi-platform campaign entitled “This Season On Baseball” will focus on the drama that comes through the season. The opening spot of the campaign highlights some of the game’s biggest stars getting ready for what comes ahead leading through to the Fall Classic. The spot sees Walton Goggins narrate with the track “I Had a Woman” by artist/producer Wax Tailor accompanying. The ads were directed by commercials, music videos and short films maker Jacob Rosenberg with the campaign developed by Anomaly, MLB’s creative agency. The spots from the campaign will be distributed on MLB.com’s digital/social platforms and premiere during national broadcasts on ESPN, MLB Network, TBS, FOX Sports and FS1.

While baseball has been criticized for not having its players marketed enough, the spots for “This Season On Baseball” rolls out a mega-list of the game’s biggest current players, with some nice additions of a manager that was on the wrong side of Game 7 in last year’s World Series, and a Hall of Famer from the Reds. They include Mike Trout, Clayton Kershaw, Giancarlo Stanton, Mookie Betts, Edwin Encarnacion, Steven Matz, Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, Matt Harvey, Felix Hernández, Francisco Lindor, Stephen Strasburg, Rick Porcello, Jose Altuve, Bryce Harper, Jose Abreu, Carlos Correa, Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, Ben Zobrist, Kyle Schwarber, Addison Russell, Javier Báez, Barry Larkin and Terry Francona who all participated in dedicated shoots during Spring Training in both Florida and Arizona.

“The excitement that the young talent emerging across Major League Baseball brings to the game is really being felt right now,” said Tony Petitti, Chief Operating Officer, Major League Baseball. “MLB is must-see entertainment with new heroes, stars and stories developing every day and this new creative campaign captures the energy by getting fans excited to watch it all unfold while showcasing our top players and rising stars.”
