Shooting at Lakewood sports complex in NJ leaves at least 4 wounded – New York Daily News


Four people were seriously wounded as gunfire erupted during a party at a Lakewood, N.J., sports complex Saturday night, police said.


A woman called cops around 9:40 p.m. and said she was on her way to Monmouth Medical Southern Campus Hospital with at least one victim hurt in the Frank Bartolf Sports Complex shooting, according to a Lakewood police news release.


Inside the emergency room, police found two men, ages 24 and 53, with gunshot wounds to the leg, and a woman, 30, who was shot in the abdomen. Outside, a vehicle believed used to rush the victims to the hospital had been ditched, police said.


Another victim, a 28-year-old man, was found shot at the sports complex. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to cops.

Cops arrested 25-year-old Jahquan Fenn, of Lakewood, as he tried leaving the crime scene in another car. He stashed by a firearm by sitting on it, the news release added.

Photos show police searching vehicles lining up to leave the complex, about 60 miles south of Newark. 


Two women, Donaysha Peace, 21, and Sanaya Smuoone, 20, were also busted on possession of a controlled dangerous substance at the park.


Police found two more guns during the investigation, one in a vehicle left at the hospital and another found on the ground between two parked cars at the sports complex.


Police did not say if any of the weapons were used in the shooting.
