Sports Stars Attend 143rd Kentucky Derby – Bleacher Report

The Kentucky Derby, one of sports’ oldest traditions, has developed into a vibrant social scene. The big hats, unique fashion choices and mint juleps now define the Run for the Roses almost as much as the actual race.

On Saturday, athletes across sports donned their largest headwear and most overbearing suits at Churchill Downs in Louisville for the 143rd edition of the Derby.

A regular at the event, Tom Brady attended with some of his New England Patriots teammates.

Another Boston legend, David Ortiz, showed up as well:

The two icons crossed paths and posed for a picture:

At Friday evening’s Barnstable Brown Derby Eve Gala, Brady ran into one of his top quarterback peers, Green Bay Packers signal-caller Aaron Rodgers:

Former Kentucky Wildcats standout Nerlens Noel also attended the charity event:

Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice kept his suit simple:

Nearly a month after a runner-up Masters Tournament finish, Justin Rose posted a photo en route to the event:

Perhaps he’ll see fellow golfers Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas there:
