America yacht in San Diego

Sail with Legendary Dennis Connor on the America’s Cup Yacht in San Diego ($17,500 pp)

Dennis Conner is one of the world’s most famous sailing champions. Having won 28 World Championships and the America’s Cup four times, he was voted America’s Greatest Sailor by his peers. Now you can have the unique opportunity to take a voyage with him aboard the famed STARS & STRIPES America’s Cup yacht or the AMERICA in San Diego.

I was lucky to have recently experienced a day on the beautiful AMERICA yacht in San Diego. It is one of the best sailing experiences for small groups or private outings on the 139-foot yacht. Reaching 12 knots, it sails very fast considering its size. Sailing out to Coronado Islands is the perfect adventure for a two-day ocean run with an overnight for six guests, or you can sail up the California coast to the Channel Islands and Catalina Island for a five-day ultimate sailing experience.

The AMERICA recently returned from a 20,000-mile voyage to the East Coast & Bermuda, so you know she is a comfortable and seaworthy vessel. Her journey was to help promote the 2017 America’s Cup and included stops at many of the famous Eastern seaboard yacht clubs.

According to AMERICA owner Captain Troy Sears, “The AMERICA was designed to cruise the world….in style…to be the center-of-attention at yacht racing’s most expensive event, for the most coveted trophy. There is only one AMERICA….and we are excited that we can offer this unique and luxury cruising experience to our guests.  Today I look forward to nothing more than taking private charter guests for extended periods on my beautiful AMERICA, allowing them to experience the passion which I am so lucky to enjoy every day”.

To have Dennis Connor as your personal guide for the day is a spectacular opportunity in both San Diego or San Francisco.  In San Francisco, the USA76 yacht with speeds up to 20 knots, is the most modern America’s Cup yacht anywhere in the world. Owned by 2-time America’s Cup winner Brad Webb, the longest member of Larry Ellison’s “Oracle Team USA”.  Dennis Conner & Brad Webb are also available as a celebrity host on board this yacht.

On San Diego Bay, you and your guests will receive personal instruction from Dennis. Board his immaculate IACC yacht, the same one he raced in the 1992 America’s Cup, and get a taste of the teamwork and precision it requires to helm this state-of-the-art vessel.  Individuals can also privately charter the yacht separately for $3,750 for three hours.

This private experience with Dennis Connor will benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation fighting childhood cancer.
