Baseball: ECR-West Ranch players shine in fall league debut – Los Angeles Times
If it’s October, it’s time for fall baseball in sunny Southern California.
Defending City Section champion El Camino Real took on Division 1 semifinalist West Ranch on Saturday, and there were plenty of individual efforts to admire.
Tim Josten, the ace left-hander for West Ranch headed to Cal State Fullerton, had one shutout inning and also had a triple, double and single.
For El Camino Real, the next star player is sophomore outfielder Cole Kitchen, who contributed three hits.
The game ended with a walk-off double by Christos Stefanos of West Ranch in the ninth inning.
West Ranch is searching for a No. 2 pitcher behind Josten. El Camino Real is searching for pitching depth to challenge City favorite Chatsworth.
