SANTA ANA, Calif., Sept. 1 (UPI) — Baseball superstar Mike Trout was involved in a serious car crash Wednesday evening in which two other people were injured, authorities said.
Trout, the All-Star outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels was driving home after the teams’s Wednesday evening game and his car collided with one or more cars as they tried to avoid another accident on the freeway. Trout was uninjured, but two people were taken to a local hospital.
First responders had to cut one woman from a vehicle, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz said.
Police did not charge Trout in the crash.
“I have spoken with Mike this evening and he feels fine,” Angels’ General Manager Billy Eppler said. “He is at home with his roommate and is planning on traveling with the club to Seattle tomorrow.”
