The bats were finally hot for Alabama, but the arm of Geoffrey Bramblett was up to task as well. The Crimson Tide won 13-4 on Sunday at Ole Miss, avoiding a series sweep.
Bramblett, a sophomore from Hoover, pitched seven innings, scattering eight hits and giving up three runs. He struck out six and improved his record to 6-2. The six wins lead Alabama.
Alabama improved to 23-20, 8-13 in SEC play.
Alabama lost a doubleheader on Saturday, scoring just two runs in two games. The Crimson Tide surpassed that with a four-run first inning. Casey Hughston’s sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot, highlighted the scoring. Mikey White also had an RBI double.
Alabama blew the game open with a six-run seventh.
Catcher Will Haynie hit his fifth homer of the season in the ninth, a solo shot.
Chance Vincent went 4-for-5, leading Alabama from the No. 9 spot in the batting order. White went 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Georgie Salem went 3-for-5. Hughston and Haynie each had two hits.
Alabama hosts Southern Miss on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Hoover Met.
