Camping World will sponsor Major League Baseball playoffs – Chicago Tribune
Putting postseason baseball on par with a midlevel college football bowl game, a stadium in Orlando, Fla., and NASCAR’s truck series, Major League Baseball said Monday it has signed Camping World to be presenting sponsor of the National League and American League championship series.
Camping World also will be the presenting sponsor of MLB spring training in Florida and Arizona.
The cost of this, part of a multiyear multiplatform marketing and licensed merchandise partnership, was not announced.
“We’re thrilled to partner with MLB and show an enormous audience of baseball fans what Camping World is all about,” Marcus Lemonis, the Lebanese-born chief executive of Camping World Holdings, said in the announcement.
Lemonis, who sold an Lake Forest estate last year and owns a Chicago condo, is perhaps best known as host of CNBC’s “The Profit.”
“Camping World is a great brand and we are looking forward to ‘The Profit’ bringing his special vision and energy to MLB for new fan promotions surrounding the LCS, spring training and more,” said Noah Garden, MLB executive vice president of business.
The ALCS presented by Camping World is scheduled to begin Oct. 13 on either Fox or cable’s Fox Sports 1. The NLCS presented by Camping World is set to start Oct. 14 on cable’s TBS.
