Nineteen-year-old Claire Eccles made history Wednesday night as the first woman to play baseball in the collegiate West Coast League. The pitcher, known for her knuckleball, gave up two runs on one hit in two innings in her debut with the Victoria HarbourCats.
A softball player for the University of British Columbia and a member of the Canadian women’s national baseball team, Eccles is making her mark in the baseball world. And she’s doing it with style.
Way to go, Claire!
