Saturday recap:

“Now, the Ducks are hoping they can repeat this performance three more times.

Oregon will face the loser of Saturday night’s Missouri State/Iowa game Sunday afternoon. Win that game, and the Ducks will enter the regional final needing two wins to eliminate their opponent. It’s an uphill battle for sure, but Oregon showed life on Saturday. On Sunday, Horton said he’ll throw weekend starters Josh Graham and David Peterson — not necessarily in that order — and hope the lineup can continue what it started against Canisius.

It might not be Chase leading the way again, he may not even be back in the lineup. But as seems to be the case in the college baseball playoffs, players rise when least expected and the Ducks are hoping it happens again. And if Chase happens to find himself back in the lineup and swinging the bat like he did last season, look out.

“There were some strikeouts today, but the electricity in his bat is unlike any electricity I’ve ever seen,” Horton said. “He’s getting closer to being that consistent guy.””
