Corey Seager leads multiple top-prospect lists – CBSSports.com

Two of the major prospect-ranking outlets have released their preseason lists, and the same man ranks at the top of both. MLB.com (top 100 here) and Baseball Prospectus (top 101 here) have each tabbed Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager as the top prospect in all of baseball.

Seager, 21, got a taste of the bigs last season and made quite the impression. He hit .337/.425/.561 (173 OPS+!) with eight doubles, a triple, four homers, 17 RBI, 17 runs and two steals in 113 plate appearances. Since he didn’t get to 130 at-bats or 45 days of regular-season service time, his rookie status is intact for 2016 and he’s eligible to be ranked as a “prospect” on these lists.

Past Seager, the two outlets agreed on the top three overall prospects, both having Twins outfielder Byron Buxton second and Nationals pitcher Lucas Giolito third.
