It seems the Cubs can’t go a day without being named the best at something. It happened again Monday, but this time it was for something off the field… Kind of.
A pair of writers with the New York Daily News put together a special team of all-stars. Position-by-position, they put together their own “All Dreamy Team” and included a pair of Cubs players. While one may be obvious, the other is a bit of an upset.
Did they go with David Ross’ strong and dependable maturity? Addison Russell’s boyish good looks? Nope. Instead they selected Kris Bryant as their third baseman and Anthony Rizzo as their first baseman.
For Bryant, the honor is no surprise. Women in Chicago have been swooning over the now-engaged rookie since he was called up. The Daily News said, quite simply, “It only makes sense that the Cubs have their hottest player, Kris Bryant, at the hot corner.”
Go Cubs! If for no other reason than this man is gorgeous. Hello, Kris Bryant. pic.twitter.com/QMLmL19asX

While they didn’t get into details, the two writers were also obvious fans of Rizzo, “The veteran of the young Cubs infield, first baseman Anthony Rizzo is a two-time All Star, but a lifetime honoree for us.”

Notably absent from their list was Cy Young pitcher Jake Arrieta. Fortunately, former MLB pitcher Barry Zito appreciated the Cubs ace a little more. Over the weekend at the BBWAA awards ceremony, Zito said Arrieta has been a long-time member of his “All-Dreamy Team” dating back to his days in Baltimore.
