• PODCAST: Fitt & Rogers discuss the landscape | Weekly Chat Transcript
Vanderbilt and Texas A&M maintained their positions as the top two teams in the D1Baseball Top 25 rankings after sweeping Southeastern Conference road series. Florida fell seven spots from No. 3 to No. 10 after a 1-3 week, and Florida State moved up two places to No. 9, but there was little other movement in the top 10.
Oklahoma State made the biggest jump of the week, climbing six spots to No. 14 after sweeping Texas right out of the Top 25. No. 12 Illinois, No. 13 Miami and No. 16 Maryland also moved up in the rankings after sweeping their weekend series, UCF fell to No. 17 after a 1-3 week that included a shocking series loss at Cincinnati.
There was tumult at the back of the rankings, as the last five teams in last week’s Top 25 all lost series and fell out of the rankings. They were replaced by Florida Atlantic (No. 18), Missouri (No. 19), Missouri State (No. 20), Coastal Carolina (No. 22) and Nevada (No. 24). FAU returned to the rankings after a two-week absence, while the other four newcomers are making their season debuts in the Top 25.
D1Baseball editors Aaron Fitt and Kendall Rogers determine the Top 25 rankings. Records are through games of April 5.
