Daily Fantasy Baseball 2015: Best MLB Position Player Picks for June 14 – Bleacher Report

Series are wrapping up on Sunday, so there will be a lot on the line for teams and individual players. Given that added pressure, owners are looking for the best targets to shore up a winning lineup in several rubber games across the country.

In anticipation of the 15 matchups on Sunday, here’s a look at the best MLB position player picks for June 14.

First Baseman: Todd Frazier, Cincinnati Reds ($4,600)

He may not be the most physically imposing infielder in the game, but Todd Frazier has been on a roll this season. His 18 home runs are just 11 shy of his career-high 29 in 2014, while his slugging percentage and OPS thus far are on track to shatter last year’s campaign.

Though the sample size is limited, Frazier already has two doubles, a walk and an RBI against Jon Lester in five at-bats. Don’t expect him to slow down on Sunday as Cincinnati tries to come away with a crucial win over the Cubbies.

Second Baseman: Dee Gordon, Miami Marlins ($4,400)

He’s got speed—but then again, he’s always had that. Over the last two seasons, Dee Gordon has proven he’s much more than just a base stealer. Thanks to his versatility against both right-handed and left-handed pitchers, he’s a great option in daily fantasy.

At home in spacious Marlins Park, Gordon will have room to roam again when he reaches base. Battling against Jorge De La Rosa, who has given up eight earned runs over his last 14.1 innings, Gordon should find success and have no issues putting up solid points for his fantasy owners.

Third Baseman: Kris Bryant, Chicago Cubs ($4,700)

Recent numbers for Kris Bryant have been impressive, but one thing has been lacking: power. He’s averaging over seven fantasy points during his last 10 games despite just three extra-base hits over that span. Something’s got to give with the massive bat Bryant has shown this season.

Two straight double-digit point totals before Saturday shot Bryant’s salary hit back up to $4,700. But with his success against right-handed pitching—six of his seven homers have come off righties—look for Bryant to bring the pop back to the Cubs lineup.

Shortstop: Carlos Correa, Houston Astros ($4,100)

Don’t let his experience fool you; Carlos Correa has the capabilities to become a star in daily fantasy. After all, that’s exactly what he’s done at the major league level. Just five games into his career, Correa already has two home runs on his resume.

That’s also caused his salary to fluctuate through the first few games. Even though his price is back above the $4,000 mark, he’s a great option at shortstop. Looking to win his first series at the MLB level, Correa will slug his way into the hearts of owners against lefty Roenis Elias.

Outfielder: Adam Jones, Baltimore Orioles ($4,900)

Adam Jones is surging again, and he has the benefit of a great matchup on Sunday.

Over the last 10 games, Jones is averaging over 12 fantasy points per game. He’s gotten to this point with four homers, two doubles and two triples in that stretch. While a majority of those numbers came on the road, he’s averaging nearly a full fantasy point more at home.

Also take into account that he’s 4-for-9 in his career against Adam Warren, and Jones looks like the perfect No. 1 outfielder on any roster. Slot him in your lineup and look forward to huge numbers again.
