Daily fantasy baseball hitter matchups

– Miguel Cabrera (1.042 OPS), Nick Castellanos (.995), James McCann (.952), J.D. Martinez (.890), Victor Martinez (.875), and Ian Kinsler (.835) have all crushed lefties this season, so consider a Tigers stack tonight against Jose Quintana.

– Matt Wisler continues to get rocked by lefties (.358/.460/.639 this year). Don’t be afraid to pay up for Curtis Granderson, Lucas Duda, Daniel Murphy, or even Kelly Johnson.

– With Gio Gonzalez on the hill against the Orioles, it’s not a bad idea to invest in Chris Davis (.852 OPS vs. LHP this year) or Nolan Reimold (.816). Stay away from Jonathan Schoop (.598).

– Trayce Thompson and Geovany Soto have both hit well against lefties this year, so if you’re looking for a cheap sleeper, give one a try against Daniel Norris.

– Jackie Bradley Jr. (1.120 OPS vs. LHP this year), Xander Bogaerts (.917), Ryan Hanigan (.903), Rusney Castillo (.889), and Dustin Pedroia (.865) are good options against Matt Moore.

– Once again, find a way to get at least one of Logan Forsythe (.983 OPS vs. LHP this year) and Evan Longoria (.977) in your DFS lineup against Henry Owens. Rays teammate Mikie Mahtook (.943) also has a good chance to get a few hits and steal a base.

– Ervin Santana has been pitching well lately, but lefties still have a .491 SLG against him this year. Cleveland’s heavy-hitting lefties, particularly Michael Brantley and Carlos Santana, could give him some trouble.

– Lance McCullers has been lights out against lefthanded batters (.213/.282/.316). Don’t overpay for Kole Calhoun or David Murphy.

– Jed Lowrie (1.079 OPS), Jose Altuve (.960), Carlos Correa (.899), George Springer (.882), and surprisingly, Colby Rasmus (.831) have all fared well against southpaws this season. Try to get at least one in your lineup against Hector Santiago.

– Lefties have lit up Jeremy Guthrie this year (.309/.373/.528), so it could be a big day for Kyle Seager, Robinson Cano, Brad Miller, and Seth Smith if he’s in the lineup.

– Lefties have also lit up Keyvius Sampson to the tune of a .365/.453/.548 line during his limited time in the majors. Matt Carpenter, Jason Heyward, Kolten Wong, Brandon Moss, and Matt Adams (if he plays) are all looking a little better today.

– A J.A. Happ-vs.-Chris Rusin duel in Colorado means big things for Pittsburgh’s and Colorado’s lefty killers. Stock up on guys like Wilin Rosario, DJ LeMahieu, Andrew McCutchen, Francisco Cervelli, and Michael Morse.

– Mike Napoli continues to smoke lefties (.914 OPS this year), so don’t overlook him against Sean Nolin today. Adrian Beltre (.849) is also a solid option.

– Brett Lawrie (.855 OPS vs. LHP this season), Marcus Semien (.811) and Billy Burns (.805) make for solid, cheap DFS options against Martin Perez.

– Justin Ruggiano (.858 career OPS) and Scott Van Slyke (.875) are in play as minimum-priced OF options when the Dodgers face a lefty like Robbie Ray, and A.J. Ellis (.936 OPS vs. LHP this year) and Corey Seager (.862) are also good choices.

– Paul Goldschmidt will be expensive, but he’s arguably the best play of the day considering he has a 1.140 OPS vs. LHP this season. Jarrod Saltalamacchia (1.110), A.J. Pollock (.888), and Welington Castillo (.829) also make for good plays against Alex Wood.

– Tyson Ross has allowed just eight homers all year, and he’s been especially lights out against righties (.219/.288/.290). Don’t overpay for any of San Francisco’s righthanded batters.
