Let’s get those daily fantasy baseball lineups ready with our starting pitcher rankings, closer news and weather reports below. As usual, we’ll also have hitter matchups and daily fantasy baseball picks to help you win some cash.

Wednesday’s MLB schedule starts at 12:10 p.m. ET with the Marlins-Braves in Atlanta. There are three more afternoon contests, though with two starting between 3:35 and 4:05, the lineups might not be out before the Marlins-Braves game starts. Saves Sleepers

Apparently our reports of Bruce Rondon‘s demise were greatly exaggerated. In his first appearance since getting blasted for three runs while pitching in the eighth inning of a game in which the Tigers were trailing by four, Rondon tossed a scoreless inning on Monday and picked up his third save. He did issue a two-out walk, but then induced a groundout to end the game. It looks like the Tigers are going to give Rondon a thorough tryout in the closer’s role, but after allowing at least one run in three of his past five appearances, his leash can’t be too long. Alex Wilson, who allowed a run on Tuesday, still seems like the best bet for save chances if Rondon is demoted, but Neftali Feliz, who got the final out of the eighth, could also be in the mix.  

It didn’t come easy, but Glen Perkins picked up his 32nd save of the year on Tuesday. Perkins allowed three singles, including one of the infield variety, and a run before getting Jose Abreu to fly out to center. Kevin Jepsen tossed a perfect eighth inning and could see some more save chances if Perkins struggles again. For now Perkins’ job is safe, but if his back or neck injuries resurface, the Twins will be quick to give him time off.

Daniel Hudson picked up his third save of the year in Game 1 of the Diamondbacks-Rockies doubleheader on Tuesday, and Josh Collmenter recorded a two-inning save in Game 2.  It’s likely that Brad Ziegler, who struggled mightily on Sunday and Monday, was just being given the day off, but Tuesday’s usage — specifically Hudson being used first and Collmenter getting a non-traditional save — should serve as a reminder that Hudson is the guy to own if anything happens to Ziegler, 

Former Blue Jays closer Miguel Castro was called up by the Rockies on Tuesday. Castro posted a 1.32 ERA in 11 games at Triple-A for the Rockies, and it’s possible he could find himself in some save situations before the year is up. His control and ability to keep the ball in the park are still very much works-in-progress, but, as we always say, a save is a save.
