Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks: Starting pitcher rankings, advice for May 24 – Sporting News

Our daily fantasy baseball picks continue with starting pitcher rankings, strategy, and advice for Tuesday’s MLB slate (minus the early game).

Chris Sale goes for his 10th straight win to start the season and is obviously the top choice on the mound today. If you choose to fade him, however, there are still plenty of aces, namely Stephen Strasburg (vs. NYM) and Jeff Samardzija (vs. SD), who are in great position to match Sale’s production tonight for slightly less.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at today’s full starting pitcher rankings and picks. As usual, we’ll also have the DFS Playbook from Fantasy Alarm to help you find the best values on FanDuel and DraftKings. Good luck!

Splurge: Stephen Strasburg, Nationals vs. Mets. If you’re not going up to Sale tonight, Strasburg ($10,600 on FD; $13,400 on DK) is a great alternative at home against the Mets, at least on FanDuel. On DK, I’d try to save even more with Jeff Samardzija ($11,700) against the Padres.

Sell: Matt Harvey, Mets at Nationals. Even at a steep discount on both sites, I’m taking a break from Harvey ($7,500 on FD & DK) against Stras and Co. That said, you might never find a better contrarian pick if you want to take a cheap flier on the beat-down ace in tournaments. Feeling lucky?

Save: Jimmy Nelson, Brewers at Braves. The best value pick depends on the site you’re playing, but Nelson ($8,400 on FD; $9,200 on DK) stands out on FanDuel against the Braves. David Price ($10,700 on FD; $8,900 on DK) might be too good to pass up on DK despite facing the Rockies at home, but Francisco Liriano ($8,500) also looks like a good value there.
