Baseball’s Hall of Fame welcomed two new members Wednesday night in outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. and former Mets‘ catcher Mike Piazza, voted in by the Baseball Writers’ of America Association.
Griffey received 99.3 percent of the vote—the highest percentage ever for a player—while Piazza received 83.0 of the vote. (A total of 440 ballots were cast.) Both will be inducted into Cooperstown later this year.
Below is everything you may have missed from Wednesday including not just Griffey and Piazza, but also about who didn’t make the Hall this go-round. (Several, wouldn’t you know, used to be Yankees.) Plus, we look ahead to the coming years and who may be getting the Hall’s nod soon.
