FanDuel fantasy baseball tips: Top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups-6/18 – FanSided
The split home-and-home interleague series wrap up today in Major League Baseball with every team in action at some point today. There are five games in the afternoon window starting at 1:05 ET followed by ten more games under the lights tonight. Whether you’re looking for help in a early only, late only, or all-day fantasy baseball contest, check out my top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups to attack on the following slides.
As a result of the unusual matchups this week, many hitters have limited to no history against their opponents, but so far there have been plenty of runs scored. Today, there are some solid sleeper options who could contribute if they get the start as well as some bigger name options who should be able to produce in line with their salary.
A batter’s history against the probable pitcher he is expected to face on any given day is one of the key factors to consider as you select your lineup in either daily or season-long leagues. Each morning here on FanSided, you can find the top ten batter vs pitcher matchups to help you pinpoint the best matchups to attack in that day’s matchup.
Each day, I do my best to try and include a variety of teams and positions to help fill out as much of your lineup as possible. Let’s get to the top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups for today.
10. Ryan Howard-1B-Philadelpiha Phillies: Ryan Howard and the Phillies look to avoid their tenth straight loss today as they host Bud Norris and the Orioles. Howard faced Norris when Norris was with the Astros going 4-13 (.308) with a pair of doubles, a home run, and an impressive five RBI. If you need a 1B, Howard is worth a look despite the struggles of the Phils lately.
9. Adam Jones-OF-Baltimore Orioles: On the other side of that same afternoon tilt, Adam Jones is a nice play for the Orioles who are trending in the opposite direction than the Phillies. Jones is 4-7 (.571) in his career against Sean O’Sullivan with a pair of RBI. He was unable to play last night due to injury, but if he returns today he could represent a nice play.
8. Ichiro Suzuki-OF-Miami Marlins: Suzuki has a much longer track record than most of the options on the list today since he and his opponent CC Sabathia have both been around the league so long (several years as teammates). Suzuki is 21-65 (.323) in his career against CC with four doubles, a triple, three homers, and six RBI. See if the Marlins try to get Suzuki in the lineup tonight due to his extended success against Sabathia.
