Florida State to sell beer at baseball games – Orlando Sentinel

Florida State will begin selling beer at baseball games this season.

The university announced in an email regarding baseball operation changes that beer would be available to purchase at Dick Howser Stadium. Beer will be $7 per serving, but it will be limited to three servings per individual during a game and to four servings during double-headers. Beer will not be sold after the sixth inning.

“As mentioned in our message to baseball season ticket holders, we have studied the possibility of beer sales at our baseball games over the past two years,” FSU athletics director Stan Wilcox said in a statement. “Aramark has a great deal of experience in responsible alcohol sales already on our campus, and we have followed the direction and recommendations from FSU Police in developing the policies surrounding these sales.  I am confident we have a good plan in place to accommodate all of our baseball patrons.”

Aramark holds FSU’s concession rights and has experience selling alcohol at FSU men’s and women’s basketball games. Basketball games are played at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, which is owned by FSU but located on the edge of FSU’s main campus.

Dick Howser Stadium is on FSU’s campus and located directly next to Doak Campbell Stadium. FSU does not currently plan to expand beer sales to football games.

FSU expects to keep track of beer sales by issuing an identifier that will tally how many purchases each patron has made.

FSU’s season begins Feb. 19 when the Seminoles host Rhode Island.
