A 14-year-old boy was airlifted after being hit in the head by a baseball during fall workouts Wednesday afternoon, according to a post on the Indian Land High School Facebook.
The post says he was wearing a helmet and running bases when a ball thrown by an infielder hit him in the face.
The accident happened at Indian Land High School in South Carolina.
Officials say after working with the student for about 40 minutes, EMS had him airlifted to Levine’s ICU with head trauma.
His MRI showed no broken or fractured bones, according to the post. His doctors will continue to monitor swelling and his general condition prior to making a decision about releasing him.
