LSU took the early 1-0 lead in the third inning when Cole Freeman led off the inning with a single, stole second base and scored from second after a two-out single by Antoine Duplantis and an error by the first baseman Hunter Melton.
Texas A&M answered in the fifth to make it 2-1 after a solo home run by designated hitter Ronnie Gideon and a RBI single by Boomer White gave the Aggies the lead.
The Tigers tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the seventh when Kramer Robertson hit a RBI groundout to shortstop to score Freeman from second who reached on a double.
LSU took the 3-2 lead in the top of the ninth inning after Greg Deichmann led off the inning with a single and scored from second on an error by the second baseman on a hard hit ball by Robertson.
