BATON ROUGE, La (WGNO) — On Saturday evening, LSU baseball will face Coastal Carolina in the Super Regional at Alex Box Stadium.
This will be Coach Paul Mainieri’s 6th Super Regional with the Tigers.
Alex Lange is the starting pitcher on Saturday. Coach Mainieri said Lange is rested and is pitching the best baseball he has all year. Coach Mainieri said Lange will be facing a tough lineup in the Chanticleers, but the team feels very confident in Lange.
Coach Mainieri said the Tigers will “do what they do best” against Coastal Carolina. The Tigers know that the Chanticleers have good pitchers, steal bases, and hit home runs.
On Thursday evening, junior outfielder Jake Fraley was selected in the second round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.
