Brandon Hughes had two hits, scored two runs and stole three bases for MSU (8-1). … Ryan McClelland had three RBIs as Northwood beat Chestnut Hill, 7-1, at Ft. Pierce, Fla. Nathan Langerfeld (1-0) pitched five innings, allowing one run and three hits for the Timberwolves (7-3). … Oakland lost to host Florida State, 12-1. Zach Sterry had two hits and an RBI for the Golden Grizzlies (1-9).

College hockey:Adam Johnson had two goals and one assist as No. 2 Minnesota Duluth defeated No. 8 Western Michigan, 6-3. Matheson Iacopelli and Griffin Molino each had a goal and an assist for the Broncos (20-9-5, 13-9-2-1 National Collegiate Hockey Conference). The teams split the season-ending two-game series at Kalamazoo. The NCHC tournament begins Friday. … Alfred Johansson scored the winner at 12:14 of the third period as St. Norbert beat host Adrian, 3-2, in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Harris Cup championship game.
