Former Major League Baseball player and baseball analyst Darryl Hamilton is dead after an apparent murder-suicide, local police told the Houston Chronicle on Sunday, June 21.
Pearland, Texas authorities said they found the bodies of the broadcaster, 50, and his alleged assailant, girlfriend Monica Jordan, in a suburban Houston home at around 4:45 p.m. Police were called to the home due to a disturbance, and upon arrival, found the bodies — Hamilton’s near the entryway of the home, and Jordan’s in another part of the house.
According to police, Jordan died from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators told the local paper that Hamilton had been shot multiple times before he was killed.
“At this point it does not appear that there was any kind of struggle,” Pearland Police Lt. Onesimo Lopez told reporters on Monday. “The incident occurred just inside the front door.”
