N&O All-Metro baseball team and final top 15 rankings, 2016 – News & Observer

After taking runner-up in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A baseball title series, Green Hope is the top team in The News & Observer’s final area rankings.

It’s the first time the Falcons have taken the final No. 1 spot, finishing second in 2014 and third in 2013.

South Granville, last year’s No. 1, took No. 2 after finishing runner-up in the 2A title series.

No. 3 Cardinal Gibbons, which lost in the second round of the playoffs to end the year 23-3, had an area-high four selections on the 25-player All-Metro team.
