Pirates announce changes to baseball operations st… – Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

After doing without a bench coach last season, electing not to replace Jeff Banister when he became Texas Rangers manager, the Pirates promoted assistant coach Dave Jauss today to become the team’s new bench coach.

Jauss joined manager Clint Hurdle’s staff after the 2012 season.

The Pirates announced three additional changes to their baseball operations department. Kevan Graves, who was the director of baseball operations, will join Kyle Stark and Greg Smith as Neal Huntington’s assistant general managers.

Will Lawton is now an assistant director of baseball operations, and Sean Kelly was promoted to take Lawton’s old post as baseball operations assistant.

The Pirates have not yet announced a new director of player personnel, a position that opened last week when Tyrone Brooks took a position with the commissioner’s office.
