SEC Baseball Tournament 2016: Day 1 matchups, schedule, pitchers – AL.com

The 2016 SEC Baseball Tournament gets underway today at the Hoover Met.

Today’s format is single elimination. The top four seeds (Mississippi State, Texas A&M, South Carolina and Florida) have byes today. Four teams will go home.

Every game will be televised on the SEC Network, and on WatchESPN.

Here is a look at the times, matchups and projected starting pitchers for Day 1 of the SEC Baseball Tournament.

Tuesday:

Game 1, 9:30 a.m., No. 6 Vanderbilt (RHP Patrick Raby, 6-1, 2.91 ERA) vs. No. 11 Missouri (RHP Tanner Houck, 5-5, 2.99)

Game 2, (30 minutes following Game 1), No. 7 Ole Miss (RHP Brady Bramlett, 7-3, 3.19) vs. No. 10 Georgia (RHP Heath Holder, 4-4, 4.34)

Game 3, 4:30 p.m., No. 8 Kentucky (LHP Zach Logue, 3-1, 2.62) vs. No. 9 Alabama (RHP Nick Eicholtz, 3-3, 2.25)

Game 4, (30 minutes following Game 3), No. 5 LSU (LHP Jake Latz, 0-1, 5.40) vs. No. 12 Tennessee (RHP Will Neely, 1-3, 4.27)

Wednesday:

Game 5, 9:30 a.m.: No. 3 Texas A&M vs. winner of Vanderbilt/Missouri

Game 6, (30 minutes following Game 5): No. 2 South Carolina vs. winner of Ole Miss/Georgia

Game 7, 4:30 p.m.: No. 1 Mississippi State vs. winner of Kentucky/Alabama

Game 8, (30 minutes following Game 7): No. 4 Florida vs. winner of LSU/Tennessee

Clay Matvick, Ben McDonald & Jane Slater will call the first two games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Dave Neal, Gabe Gross & Laura Rutledge will call the last two games of Tuesday and Wednesday.
