Saturday’s results officially established the bracket what should be a stacked SEC baseball tournament in Hoover next week.
With a win on Saturday, Mississippi State was able to land the No. 1 overall seed in the 2016 SEC baseball tournament. It beat out Texas A&M which fell to the No. 3 seed with Eastern Division winner South Carolina taking the No. 2 seed.
Alabama was the only in-state school to make the 2016 edition of the SEC baseball tournament. Auburn was in good shape to make the tournament headed into the final weekend, but a sweep against Vanderbilt allowed Tennessee to earn the 12th and final slot in the tournament. Arkansas will also have to watch the tournament from home this year.
All tournament games will be televised on the SEC Network with the SEC baseball tournament championship on Sunday appearing on ESPN2.
