ICYMI: My column on the biggest takeaways from an eventful first round on Saturday

Class A

John Jay 4, Byram Hills 3: At No. 2 John Jay, Ryan Bryggman allowed two runs on four hits with no walks over four innings with five strikeouts for the win and Justin Drpich pitched three innings for the save, allowing one run on two hits and one walks with four strikeouts. Drpich also went 2 for 3 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI.

Brewster 5, Eastchester 3: At No. 8 Eastchester, Luke Barnes allowed two earned runs over six innings with six strikeouts for the win and Devin O’Connor went 3 for 4 with two RBI. Brewster will play at No. 4 Tappan Zee in the semifinals at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Tappan Zee 8, Rye 2: At No. 4 TZ, Kieran Gibson threw six shutout innings while Jack Sheehy and John Daly each had two hits.

Harrison 5, Nyack 4: At No. 3 Harrison, Steven Pesce threw a complete game with eight strikeouts and had an RBI single. The Huskies will play at No. 2 John Jay in the semis at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Class AA

Ketcham 2, Fox Lane 1: At No. 1 Ketcham, Brandon Chiavarra drove in the winning run and Ryan Murphy got the win in relief after Greg Blum threw the first four innings. Aaron Winkler went the distance for the eighth-seeded Foxes.

Mamaroneck 3, Mahopac 0: At No. 3 Mamaroneck, Bill Flatow threw a four-hitter with one walk and five strikeouts for his seventh win of the season. The Tigers will play at No. 2 North Rockland in the semifinals at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

North Rockland 7, Clarkstown South 0: At No. 2 North Rockland, Chris Dodrill threw a complete game while Brian Bohlander and Jason Wright each had two hits.

John Jay-EF 6, Horace Greeley 0: At No. 12 Greeley, Antonio Pragana threw a complete game with six hits and no walks and went 2 for 4 with a run scored. The 13th-seeded Patriots will play at No. 1 Ketcham in the semis at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Class B

Albertus Magnus 8, Valhalla 2: At No. 2 Valhalla, Mike Dunne threw a complete game and Jake Rivera hit a grand slam. Stephen Greeley and Joe Ottaviano also homered. The 10th-seeded Falcons will play at No. 3 Keio in the semifinals at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Keio 11, Edgemont 1: At Manhattanville College, Hiromasa Han, Yusuke Nakatani and Daisuke Oki each had two hits and two RBI and Masayoshi Shimojima pitched five innings for the win.

Briarcliff 4, Westlake 1, suspended (to be continued in the bottom of the fourth at 4 p.m. on Tuesday)

Pleasantville 2, Croton-Harmon 1, suspended(to be continued in the top of the third at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday)
