By the numbers: Batted .357 with 35 hits and 26 RBIs from the leadoff spot much of the season, had 5 doubles, 3 triples and 2 homers; walked 23 times, giving him a .504 on-base percentage, and stole 26 bases in 28 attempts; also pitched, going 2-0 with a 4.30 ERA, striking out 10 in 14 2/3 innings; undecided about where he will play in college.

Coach speak: “He’s had such a great spring and he’s smart, a 3.8 GPA guy. He’s positive all the time, whether he went 4-for-4 or 0-for-4, you’d never know the difference. He works so hard in the offseason and the weight room, got a lot stronger. He led off and set the table for us and then stole 26 of 28 bases.” — Millard South coach Greg Geary.
