Vols baseball coach Dave Serrano says Friday that Tennessee’s starting quarterback has participated in two baseball workouts with football coach Butch Jones’ blessing.

Serrano declined comment on whether Dobbs might play for the baseball team. Dobbs, who played baseball in high school, wasn’t included in the Tennessee baseball roster that was distributed Friday.

Serrano says he’s been in “constant communication” with Dobbs and Jones “about any affiliation that (Dobbs) may or may not have with this program.”

Tennessee opens its baseball season Feb. 19. The football team begins spring practice March 7 and holds its spring game April 16.
