A few years ago, we were visiting our daughter and son-in-law for our grandson Luke’s second birthday. It was the time year when all the Major League Baseball teams were announcing their new signings and the amounts the players were being paid.

My son-in-law picked up Luke and said, “Maybe we should take him to the backyard and teach him to play baseball.”

His big sister, Peyton, 3½ at the time, was coloring nearby. Without looking up, she said, “You might want to teach him to use the potty first.”
