Top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups-6/20 – FanSided
Today’s Major League Baseball schedule features six Saturday afternoon games followed by the other nine games taking place under the lights tonight. While the Twins and Cubs play the only interleague series today, there are several divisional series meaning hitters have pretty solid track records against opposing pitchers today. To help you get the hitters in the best matchup, check out my top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups to attack on the following slides.
Each morning, you can find the top ten batter vs pitcher plays that you need to know as you assemble your lineup for either season-long or daily league fantasy baseball. Today, there are some solid sleeper options who could contribute if they get the start as well as some bigger name options who should be able to produce as well.
A batter’s history against the probable pitcher he is expected to face on any given day is one of the key factors to consider as you select your lineup even though past success doesn’t guarantee future results. Each day, I do my best to try and include a variety of teams and positions to help fill out as much of your lineup as possible.

Let’s jump right into the top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups for today.
10. Eric Hosmer-1B-Kansas City Royals: Hosmer and the Royals All-Stars lost to the Red Sox last night, but they’ll look to bounce back tonight as they take on Rick Porcello who has struggled in his last few starts. Hosmer especially is set up for success having gone 9-24 (.375) with a double, two homers, and three RBI against Porcello in their previous meetings.
9. Jhonny Peralta-SS-St. Louis Cardinals: Peralta and the Cardinals are in a good matchup to attack as they take on Aaron Harang and the Phillies tonight. Peralta is 11-33 (.333) in his career against Harang with three doubles, two homers, and four RBI.
8. Mark Teixeira-1B-New York Yankees: While A-Rod got the attention last night, Teixeira is the Yankee I’d look at for tonight’s matchup based on his career history against Tigers’ starter Alfredo Simon. Teixeira is 7-17 (.412) against Simon in the past with a double, two homers, and four RBI.
