Top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups-6/22 – FanSided
With 16 teams taking Monday off, Major League Baseball gets the week off to a slow start with seven games on the schedule for this Monday, June 22. There are still some solid fantasy baseball opportunities to take advantage of, though, with some batters in favorable matchups. To check out the top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups to target today, check out my picks on the following slides.
Each morning here at FanSided, I try to highlight the top 10 batter vs pitcher to help you put together your lineup for either season-long or daily league fantasy baseball. Today, there are a few sleepers who can be had cheaply or on the waiver wire who look to be lined up for big nights. With a limited slate, there is less positional diversity in my list than I would like, but the matchups selected were clearly the top 10.
A batter’s history against the starting he will face on a given day is one of the key factors to consider as you select your lineup. Unfortunately, past success doesn’t guarantee future results, but it is still something to monitor closely. To help you in as many ways as possible, I try to include a variety of teams and positions in my daily picks.

Let’s jump right into the top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups for this limited schedule Monday:
10. Stephen Drew-2B-New York Yankees: Drew has multiple hits in each of the Yankees last three games and will look to keep it rolling tonight against the Phillies and starter Kevin Correia. Correia and Drew have a long history, and Drew is 16-56 (.286) with four doubles, a triple, a home run, and seven RBI against Correia in their past meetings.
9. Kendrys Morales-DH-Kansas City Royals: The Royals dropped two of three to the Red Sox this weekend and now head to Seattle where they’ll take on Felix Hernandez tonight at Safeco. Morales actually has some success against his former teammate going 14-48 (.292) with two doubles, a home run, and eight RBI.
8. Chris Carter-1B-Houson Astros: Carter’s track record is shorter than Drew and Morales’s, but he has a higher average against Angels’ starter Hector Santiago. In his career, Carter is 4-10 (.400) with a double, home run, and four RBI against Santiago.
