Top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups-7/7 – FanSided
Major League Baseball has a full day this Tuesday just a week before the All Star game. There are 17 total games on the schedule for today since the Cubs and Cardinals will play a double-header as well as the Rays and Royals trying to get in a pair in Kansas City after a rain out last night. For the purposes of this post, we won’t consider the two afternoon games since most of the daily fantasy baseball action will focus on the full 15-game schedule under the lights tonight. From those 15 games, check out the top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups on the following slides.
There are a good number of options to choose from as you build your fantasy baseball lineup today. One factor to consider which this daily post focuses on is a hitters past success against the probable starting pitcher they will face today. While good numbers in the past don’t necessarily guarantee that a specific hitter will contribute tonight, it definitely is a factor to consider.
In each of my batter vs pitcher posts, I try to include a variety of teams and positions to help you fill as many slots on your roster as possible. Today, there is a good mix of potential sleepers as well as a few big names with big numbers. Overall today the numbers are a little thinner than a typical day since many teams are sending young or inexperienced pitchers to the mound.

This Tuesday night should be a good one for fantasy baseball players especially the ones who choose to roll with these top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups to attack.
10. Skip Schumaker-OF-Cincinnati Reds: Expect the Reds to find a spot for the versatile Schumaker tonight as the Reds send Johnny Cueto into a pitchers’ duel with Max Scherzer. Schumaker has a solid history against the Nats’ Ace going 3-6 (.500) against him in his career. While he isn’t a big name he could be a sneaky cheap play for this Tuesday.
9. Ruben Tejada-3B-New York Mets: Another cheap option with a good track record for tonight is Mets’ 3B Ruben Tejada. Tejada has gone 5-13 (.385) in his career against Giants’ starter Matt Cain including one home run.
8. Chris Colabello-OF-Toronto Blue Jays: From his days with the Twins, Colabello is familiar with his opponent tonight as the Jays face Jose Quintana. Colabello is 3-8 (.375) in his career against Quintana with a pair of doubles and an impressive five RBI.
