Making the trip to a Twins game this year? You probably won’t be seeing one of the best teams in baseball, but according to a company that tracks ticket prices, you’ll be seeing one of the more expensive.

Team Marketing Report, an Illinois-based sports-business research company, lists the Twins as the eighth-most expensive ticket in baseball this year, with an average price of $32.59.

There’s little correlation between cost and team quality. The Twins are just behind the World Series champion San Francisco Giants and just ahead of the 92-loss Houston Astros.

The Boston Red Sox, with an average ticket price of $52.34, and New York Yankees ($51.55) are Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. The San Diego Padres, with an average price of $16.37, are dead last. The major league average is just shy of $29.

The April 2015 report pegs the overall cost of attending a Twins game with all the bells and whistles — four tickets, two beers, four soft drinks, four hot dogs, parking and two baseball caps — at $229.36. That’s also eighth-highest in baseball.

According to the report, the cost of a Twins game went up 6.5 percent this year. The only team with a bigger increase was the Kansas City Royals, who are coming off a trip to the World Series.

Some good news: The price of a 20-ounce beer at Target Field — $7.50, according to the report — is on the lower end as far as ballparks go, tied for 19th with Colorado and Milwaukee.
