The National Federation of High Schools, which oversees the VHSL, on Tuesday announced that all state associations must set a pitch-count policy, rather than an innings-based limit, in an effort to protect arms from overuse injuries. The exact number of a pitches a player will be allowed to throw is for the VHSL to decide.
