Week twelve of the Fantasy baseball season begins Monday June 22nd 2015. We have plenty here to get you started as you prepare for your weekly matchups…..so let’s get started!
Week 12 Interleague Matchups
Only two Interleague matchups for week twelve and they are as follows;
Philadelphia Phillies at the New York Yankees (3 games Monday through Wednesday
Minnesota Twins at the Milwaukee Brewers (3 games Friday through Sunday)
Bullpen Report for Week 12
For the first time all season there aren’t any demotions, no one lost their jobs and there is nothing new to report that is any different than last week.
On situation you may want to keep your eye on involves the New York Mets and their closer Juerys Familia. He’s been dealing with some sort of leg injury and missed this weekends games. He’s also planning on going on maternity leave at some point in the near future. If he misses any further games or goes on the disabled list former closer Bobby Parnell will be the man closing games for the Mets.

Starting Pitcher Waiver Wire Suggestions Week 11
Each of the starting pitchers listed below are available in at least 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Baseball Leagues.
Mat Latos Miami Marlins: Latos has a Wednesday home start this week against the Cardinals. Over his past two starts Latos has posted an ERA of 2.84 and a less than desirable 1.34 WHIP with 17 strikeouts, 4 walks and 1 bomb in 17.7 innings pitched. Good season long 3.31 FIP and xFIP of 3.99. He’ll face a Cardinal team that strikes out 21 percent of the time and has a .290 wOBA and wRC+ of 80 on the road.
Charlie Morton Pittsburgh Pirates: Morton has a Friday home start against the Braves. Over his past 19.3 innings pitched Morton has a 1.40 ERA, WHIP of 1.09 with 10 strikeouts and 7 walks and more importantly zero home runs. Good 3.41 FIP and even better 3.46 xFIP. He’ll face a Braves team with a wRC+ of 82, wOBA .294 and strikes out 25 percent of the time they face a righty on the road.
Yovani Gallardo Texas Rangers: Gallardo has a Friday road start against the Blue Jays. Over his past three starts he’s posted a 0.90 ERA, .90 WHIP with 18 strikeouts, 6 walks and zero home runs in 20 innings of work. Halfway decent 3.68 FIP and better xFIP of 3.66. He’ll face a Blue Jays team that strikes out 18 percent of the time it faces right handers with a wOBA of .342 and wRC+ of 115. Don’t let those numbers scare you Gallardo is much better than folks think.
Taijuan Walker Seattle Mariners: Walker has a Friday away start against the Angels. Over his past two starts Walker has posted an ERA of 1.38, WHIP of 1.31 with 12 strikeouts and just 2 walks in 13 innings pitched. His season long 4.32 FIP is a bit unfair as his xFIP of 4.04 suggests it to be. The Angels strike out 19 percent of the time at home with a wOBA of .318 to go along with a wRC+ of 108. Walker has been very good lately and will be a good source of strikeouts for you.
Kendall Graveman Oakland Athletics: Graveman has a Wednesday start on the road against the Rangers. Over his last 3 starts Graveman has posted an ERA of 1.64, WHIP of 1.04 with 19 strikeouts, 3 walks and 4 bombs over 22 innings pitched. His 4.82 FIP isn’t the greatest but his xFIP of 4.25 suggests he is starting to come around a bit plus he’s had three quality starts in a row. The Rangers at home have a wOBA of .302 and wRC+ of 78 to go along with a 18 percent strikeout rate at home.
Mike Pelfrey Minnesota Twins: Pelfrey has a Tuesday home start against the White Sox. Over his past three starts Pelfrey has an ERA of 4.12, WHIP of 1.42 with 10 strikeouts, 5 walks and 5 bombs in 19.7 innings pitched. Not so decent 4.23 FIP and his xFIP of 4.47 is even worse. So why recommend him? The White Sox have a road wOBA of .315 with a wRC+ of 98 and strikeout 22 percent of the time on the road. This could be a good one for Pelfrey.
Chris Young Kansas City Royals: Young has a Saturday start on the road against Oakland. Over his last 3 starts Young has posted a 2.95 ERA. WHIP of 1.04 with 9 strikeouts, 5 walks and 1 bomb in 18.3 innings pitched. Good 3.47 FIP and not so good xFIP of 4.88. Oakland has a home strikeout rate of 17 percent with a wRC+ of 115 and wOBA of .336. It could be a bumpy ride but a worthwhile one in terms of ERA and WHIP on Saturday.
Jesse Chavez Oakland Athletics: Chavez has a Sunday home start against the Royals. Over his past 3 starts Chavez has a 3.79 ERA, WHIP of 1.26 with 19 strikeouts, 4 walks and 2 bombs in 19 innings pitched. Very good 2.75 FIP and xFIP of 3.48. On the road the Royals have a wOBA of .289 and wRC+ of 80 with a 15 percent strikeout rate. Chavez should be a great way to end your weekly matchup.
Week 12 Starting Pitching Streaming Options
Each of the starting pitching streaming options listed below are available in over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Baseball Leagues.
Monday: Tsuyoshi Wada Chicago Cubs: Wada has a Monday road start against the Dodgers. The Dodgers have a home wOBA of .289 and wRC+ of 89 with a 23 percent strikeout rate at home against lefties. Over the past 3 starts Wada has posted an ERA of 5.27, WHIP of 1.68 with 11 strikeouts, 6 walks and 2 bombs in 13.7 innings pitched. Wada is coming off a sensational start against the Indians where he struck out 6, walked 2 and gave up zero earned runs. He also picked up a win. Wada is back on track folks.
Tuesday: Mike Montgomery Seattle Mariners: Montgomery has a Tuesday home start against the Royals. Over his last three starts he’s posted a .310 ERA, 1.18 WHIP with 8 strikeouts, 6 walks and 1 bomb in 20.3 innings pitched. On the road the Royals have a wOBA of .289 and a wRC+ of 80 to go along with a 15 percent strikeout rate. Outside of his last start against the Giants Montgomery has been solid and his pitching matchup against the Royals Jeremy Guthrie might net him a valuable win on Tuesday.
Wednesday: Jimmy Nelson Milwaukee Brewers: Nelson has a Wednesday home start against the Mets. Over his last 3 starts Nelson has an ERA of 5.63, WHIP of 2.00 with 10 strikeouts, 6 walks and 2 bombs in 16 innings pitched. As bad as all that sounds the Mets boast a wOBA of .311 with a strikeout rate of 20 percent and a wRC+ of 95. Nelson should be good to go for maybe double digit strikeouts and maybe even a win on Wednesday.
Thursday: Tyler Lyons St Louis Cardinals: Lyons has an away start on Thursday against the Marlins. Lyons has won both his starts since returning to the starting rotation and over those starts he’s posted a 4.50 ERA, 1.20 WHIP with 11 strikeouts, 2 walks and three bombs in 10 innings pitched. The Marlins have a big offensive team (.354 wOBA, 122 wRC+) but they also have a team ISO of .123 and a team slugging percentage of .382. I know I’m reaching but I got a hunch Lyons is going to come through on Wednesday.
Position Player Waiver Wire Options for Week 12
Each of the players listed below are available in over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Baseball leagues.
A.J. Pierzynski C Atlanta Braves: Over the past 14 days Pierzynski has slashed a line of .256/.310/.333/.643 with 4 RBI and 4 runs scored. Good season long .130 ISO, wOBA of .310 and wRC+ of 100 to go along with his .279 BABIB. He also has a good early week matchup with Washington and a decent matchup with Pittsburgh on the weekend.
Mark Reynolds 1B 3B St. Louis Cardinals: Over the past 14 days Reynolds has hit 2 bombs, driven in 7 RBI, scored 4 runs and slashed a line of .234/.321/.426/.747. Good BABIP of .349, .145 ISO is ok and his .319 wOBA and wRC+ of 103 is solid. He has a good matchup with the Marlins at the beginning of the week and a tossup with the Cubs at the end of the week.
Jace Peterson 2B SS Atlanta Braves: Over the last 14 days Peterson has slashed a nice .340/.411/.520/.911 line with 1 bomb, 6 RBI and 7 runs scored. Very good season long BABIP of .335, .325 wOBA and wRC+ of 105. He has a good matchup at the beginning of the week with Washington as well as a decent matchup against Pittsburgh this coming weekend.
Francisco Lindor SS Cleveland Indians: Lindor just got called up so the sample size is extremely small but thus far he’s slashed a line of .267/.267/.267/.534. He’s also driven in a run, swiped a base and scored a run. He has a so matchup at the beginning of the week with Detroit and a really good matchup this coming weekend with the Orioles. Grab him before he’s gone because this kid is the real deal.
Brett Lawrie 2B 3B Oakland Athletics: Lawrie has slowly gotten better this season. Over the past 14 days Lawrie has slashed a .318/.388/.523/.911 line with 2 bombs, 8 RBI, 5 runs scored and a stolen base. Outstanding .375 BABIP, wOBA of .323 and 109 wRC+. His .130 ISO is a bit low but manageable. The matchup at the beginning of the week with Texas should be really productive and the weekend games with Kansas City could also be productive for Lawrie.
Kevin Pillar OF Toronto Blue Jays: Over the past 14 days Pillar has slashed a .365/.382/.442/.824 line with 1 bomb, 11 RBI, 8 runs scored and 3 stolen bases. His season long .295 BABIP is workable and his .116 ISO is awful as is his .285 wOBA and 85 wRC+ so why choose him this week? Because it’s been worse, he’s starting to get his act together and has two favorable matchups; Tampa Bay at the beginning of the week and Texas on the weekend.
Steven Souza Jr. OF Tampa Bay Rays: Over the past 14 days Souza has slashed a .220/.304/.420/.724 line with 3 bombs, 5 RBI, 11 runs scored and a stolen base. His .293 BABIP is a bit low but his .336 wOBA and 121 wRC+ is huge. He also has two very favorable matchups this week; Toronto is in town at the beginning of the week and Boston comes to Tampa Bay for a weekend series. Both teams give up a bunch of home runs per nine innings and both clubs team ERA is over 4.00 which is quite high.
