While the Yankees advanced to the American League Championship on Wednesday night in Cleveland, their former star Derek Jeter was hosting his Turn 2 Foundation gala at Cipriani Wall Street.
He told Page Six of his recent return to baseball as co-owner of the Miami Marlins, “I went back to baseball because . . . it is the greatest sport in the world. It is what I have done my entire life. I needed some time away from the game, so I am happy to be back in it.”
He retired in 2014, but, “I have always been pretty vocal that when I was done I wanted to be a part of an ownership group. That was the second dream, so now I am getting the opportunity to live that.”
