CHARLOTTESVILLE — Baseball, the University of Virginia and Brian O’Connor are synonymous with success.

O’Connor, the Cavaliers’ baseball coach, has taken the team to the NCAA tournament in each of his 13 seasons on the job. Virginia is the defending national champion, has played in the College World Series four times, and was the runners-up for the national championship in 2014.
