Seven-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson already holds the record for most victories at Dover International Speedway with 10.
The closest competitors to Johnson in terms of Dover victories are long-retired NASCAR Hall of Fame members Richard Petty and Bobby Allison, each of whom won seven times here.
If Johnson wins Sunday’s AAA 400 Drive for Autism at the Monster Mile, he will tie a NASCAR record by becoming only the third driver in history to win 11 races at a single track. Petty won at least 11 races at four tracks and fellow NASCAR Hall of Fame member Darrell Waltrip did it twice.
Interestingly, all five tracks where Petty and Waltrip won at least 11 races were tracks that are one mile or shorter and all are in the Southeast. Here they are:
