The Big Ten Hockey Tournament got underway with two exciting games on Thursday night.

In the opener, No. 3 Penn State eliminated No. 6 Wisconsin, 5-2. No. 4 Ohio State followed that with a thrilling 4-3 win over No. 5 Michigan State in OT.
Every game of the 2016 Big Ten Men’s Hockey Tournament airs live on BTN (and BTN2Go) through Saturday’s title game. All games are at the the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Minnesota is the No. 1 seed and earns a first-round bye, and so does No. 2 seed Michigan.

THURSDAY
No. 3 Penn State 5, No. 6 Wisconsin 2: The third-seeded Penn State men’s hockey bounced sixth-seeded Wisconsin, 5-2, in the opening game of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday evening at Xcel Energy Center. Eric Scheid scored twice and Luke Juha had a career-high three assists and a plus-three rating to lead the Nittany Lions.
No. 4 Ohio State 4, No. 5 Michigan State 3, OT: Ohio State’s hockey team topped Michigan State, 4-3, in the second game of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday night. Mason Jobst scored the game-winner and added an assist for the Buckeyes in the win. Ohio State will advance to play Minnesota in the quarterfinals at 8:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
