Forza Motorsport 6 NASCAR Expansion Leaked – IGN

It looks like Forza Motorsport 6 could be set to receive another expansion, if new images of what appears to be a download card for some unannounced Forza 6 DLC are to be believed.

Spotted on Reddit, the supposed card was snapped at a UK retailer. If the card is legitimate the pack will cost £15.99 in the UK.

The text on the back of the card claims the expansion will feature 24 cars from the 2016 NASCAR series, a new “NASCAR World Tour” career mode, new multiplayer events, and  “new display elements for improved drafting and car spotting.”

It will apparently also include a new location – Homestead-Miami Speedway.

IGN has contacted Microsoft for comment.

Assuming it isn’t an elaborate ruse this expansion would mark the first appearance for NASCAR vehicles in the series on the Xbox One. North American stock cars have not been featured in the Forza series since Forza Motorsport 4.

Forza Motorsport 6’s first expansion pack – the Porsche Expansion – was leaked in a similar fashion back in January, outed by a retailer listing on Amazon more than a month before its official reveal and release.

In January 2015 a new publisher called DMi, Inc revealed it had become “NASCAR’s exclusive licensee for video games and digital entertainment” and that it is developing a NASCAR racing sim for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC expected to release this year. With this in mind, how Turn 10’s possible NASCAR collaboration may have come about is unclear, but NASCAR content does continue to appear in racing games from various publishers, including iRacing and EA’s Real Racing 3.

Forza Motorsport 6’s latest DLC is a Hot Wheels-themed pack, spearheaded by a specially-commissioned 2005 Ford Hot Wheels Mustang and a Hot Wheels ‘Bone Shaker’ hot rod (the popular 1:64 scale die cast car actually inspired a real-world build back in 2011).
