The pomp and circumstance was already flowing through Portugal’s national stadium prior to Sunday’s Portuguese Cup final between Benfica Lisbon and Vitoria Guimaraes when something truly unexpected occurred.
As if sent from the future, a mysterious man with golden shoulder pads suddenly appeared on the scene, gliding through the rainy weather on a drone while holding the match ball.
Hovering about 30 feet off the ground amid cheers from the crowd, the drone-riding individual swiftly approached midfield before landing softly on the grass. He then offered the ball with his left hand as the match official walked over and collected it so the match could begin.

Talk about arriving in style.
Benfica eventually claimed the title with a 2-1 win over Guimaraes, but the taste of victory may still not compare to the taste of the future everyone received with that entrance.
