Langley announces dates for two NASCAR touring series races – Daily Press
Two of the biggest pieces of Langley Speedway’s 2017 schedule fell into place Sunday, when NASCAR announced that the track will host two of its touring series events.
NASCAR said in a press release that its Whelen Modified Tour will stop at Langley on May 13, and the K&N Pro Series East will be there on Sept. 2.
The Modified Tour is a new creation, combining NASCAR’s northern-based tour with its former Whelen Southern Modified Tour. Langley hosted eight Southern Modified Tour races from 2010-15 and, from 2011-15, hosted a K&N Pro Series East race each season.
Langley Speedway did not open in 2016 after 65 consecutive seasons of stock car racing. Former track operator Bill Mullis announced on Friday that he has purchased the 4/10ths-of-a-mile track and will open it for racing on April 1.
