LOOK: Blackhawks’ Andrew Shaw gets soccer gear from Chicago Fire – CBSSports.com

The sports world is still buzzing about Andrew Shaw’s header goal that wasn’t from Game 2 of the Western Conference finals against the Anaheim Ducks. Usually disallowed goals are forgotten soon after they’re washed out by the officials, but Shaw’s perfect form in heading a puck into the net provided too good a visual to forget.

Now Shaw can at least look the part when trying to bring soccer to hockey. The Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer sent the Chicago Blackhawks forward a robust care package that included, among other things, his own jersey emblazoned with the No. 65 he wears with the Blackhawks.

The soccer world has been buzzing about it, too. NBC Sports’ studio analysts for their Premier League coverage light-heartedly broke down the goal, it got re-dubbed with exuberant soccer analyst Ray Hudson’s call of a Real Madrid goal and even US Women’s National Team soccer star Abby Wambach (known for headers herself) weighed in on the decision.

Shaw even quipped after Game 2 that maybe the Premier League should be scouting him.

Shaw is one of the many Blackhawks players who play soccer as part of the pregame warmup. Looks like he might have some new gear to wear for those heated games of what Shaw and his teammates call “keepy uppy” (not joking).
