The United States women’s national soccer team won Mother’s Day 2015 with the help of FOX Sports.

Mothers of Team USA players walked their daughters onto the field before their exhibition game against Ireland on Sunday at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif. The touching scene was part of a surprise, mothers’ visit FOX Sports organized ahead of the game — the second of four in Team USA’s send-off series ahead of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

A few Team USA players who also are mothers brought their children to the game.

Abby Wambach scored two goals in the first half, and Julie Johnston scored early in the second period, as the United States defeated Ireland 3-0.

The U.S. national team is hard at work preparing for the 2015 Women’s World Cup. It will face Mexico next Sunday at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. and Korea Republic on May 30 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. Team USA previously defeated New Zealand 4-0 on April 4.

Team USA is trying to win its first world championship since 1999. Team USA begins Women’s World Cup play on June 8 when it faces Australia in Group D play.

Canada hosts the tournament, which kicks off on June 6. The final will be on July 5 in Vancouver.
