DOVER, Del. — It’s NASCAR race day at Dover International Speedway, and we’ve got some essential information you need to get ready for Sunday’s AAA 400 Drive for Autism Sprint Cup race.
START TIME: Jason Jones, star of the TBS comedy The Detour, is scheduled to instruct drivers to start their engines at 1:07 p.m. (ET) today. If you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV at 1:15 p.m. for the green flag.
RACE DISTANCE: The AAA 400 Drive for Autism is 400 laps around the 1-mile track for a total of 400 miles.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: Nashville singer Tom Dixon will perform the anthem at 1:01 p.m.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: Fox Sports 1 will broadcast today’s race. The pre-race show is scheduled at 1 p.m. (ET). Motor Racing Network will call the race on the radio.
WEATHER: Sunday’s forecast calls for an afternoon high of 60 with little chance of rain.
LAST TIME: Jimmie Johnson won last year’s spring race at Dover, outgunning Kevin Harvick in a green-white-checkered finish. And in the fall Chase for the Sprint Cup race, Harvick dominated to advance to the second round, while Johnson was eliminated from the Chase.
